Skills, the new currency of work

With the increase in employee skill gaps, the impact of automation technologies as well as fundamental shifts in work models and structures, understanding people’ skills and abilities has become increasingly important in order to adequately anticipate future needs and any changes that need to be made.

Fixing skill gaps with better employee recruitment and development is essential for all companies who want to remain competitive and reach their strategic goals.

Company overlooks 95% of available skills

Career Management was never meant to take over all employee development. Oftentimes there is only one HR manager per 500 employees which means that only 5% of employees are actually getting the support they need (those with high potential, best performers, executives).

Career data is complex, incomplete, constantly evolving…

With more than 58 million job titles –80% of which are unique– keeping up with skills administration and reconciliation is a challenge for any organization. The word choice used to describe skills is sometimes unique to each organization, sometimes using up to 50 synonyms to describe one skill. Skills are also constantly evolving, and so it can be hard to get a proper hold on skill nomenclature. Career data can therefore be difficult to use.

Clustree’s AI-based career platform leverages bias-free algorithms and machine learning to make sense of all your career data (skills, job titles and descriptions, wishes , training, education, etc.). We make skills the currency of work, so you can tackle any of your challenges using the same language: skills.

Put skills at the heart of all your HR processes to make it a common denominator for all HR use cases and a universal language across sectors.

Clustree has built a skills framework to simplify chaotic skill language

  • Universal: describes skills of any industry at every granularity level.
  • Normalized: consolidates over 1 billion skills into 50 000 common and verified skills enabling us to detect them skills in unstructured text.
  • Correlated: recognizes and identifies related skills and shows the relationship and proximity between them.
  • Open: defines new skills as synonyms of an existing skill or as a new entry. Users are free to describe any skills the way they want.
  • Dynamic: is continuously learning and evolving thanks to our users.

Skills Detection

Based on Clustree’ skills framework translate any asset or content into skills. We can detect skills in the textual content, deduce complementary and skills implied by the job title and the organization.

Clustree has built two Deep Learning networks capable of linking job titles to skills:

  1.   The skills of other people with a similar job on the market
  2.   The skills developed during this experience by similar people on the market

Skills Normalization

You can have up to 50 descriptions or synonyms, and up to 30 homonyms for a single skill. Normalization is a key step to leverage your data.

Clustree’s AI engine has consolidated over 1 billion skills into 55 000 verified skills in order to accurately describe any employee profile from any industry.

Skills Distance & Co-occurence

When categorizing skills you have probably been forced to ask the question. Is HRIS part of HR or IS? Manual categorizations do not give you a fine-grained and comprehensive understanding of every skill.

Using statistical descriptions, Clustree clusters skills, maps each one and shows the relationship between them in order to make skills a common denominator for all HR use cases and a universal language across sectors.
